Sunday, January 18th, Service at 10 am

All are welcome to join us for church on Sunday, January 18th at 10 am. There is Sunday School during the service and coffee time afterwards. We hope that you will consider joining us.

Here are Rev. Heather’s thoughts on this weeks sermon.

People of faith are often asked if going to Church gives them all the answers they need to live ‘good’ lives. Often there is an assumption too that the goal of any faith community is to “tell people what to do”.

In truth, we are encouraged in our community to ask questions…to wonder and to never stop seeking meaning in our lives. This is the message Jesus gave to the disciples of John the Baptist when they made the decision to follow him. Their teacher asked “What are you looking for?” And from that moment on, all those who chose to learn the new way of living Jesus taught, the question of their Lord continued to ring in their ears.

We too must often ask ourselves what we are looking for. And each one of us may answer differently on any given day. Life is never stagnant and if we choose to be open to seeking what we are looking for, we may be certain that whatever this is, we have a companion who surrounds us with the love and strength we need in our searching.
