Gail Allan – worship leader for July 2, 2023

Our worship leader this Sunday will be Dr. Gail Allan who has a doctorate in ethics from Emmanual College of the Toronto School of Theology. Her academic and professional interests have included feminist theological and social ethics, ecclesiology, and ecumenical and interfaith relations. From 2004-2020 she was Coordinator for Ecumenical, Interchurch and Interfaith Relations in The United Church of Canada, representing the church in national and international ecumenical and interfaith groups.

Gail has worked for many years on issues of global and social justice, bringing a commitment to integrating theological reflection, critical social analysis, and collaborative models of education and action. She is an associate faculty member at St. Stephen’s College, a member of Garneau United Church, and was recently elected President of the Edmonton Interfaith Centre for Education and Action. She is also involved in the gender justice work of the World Council of Churches and attended the WCC’s 11th assembly in Germany in August 2022.
